Cancer cell signaling meeting: the LKB1 – AMPK pathway from basic science to clinical applications
This unique International conference will be held in Marseilles on June 25th
and June 26th, 2010, under the auspices of Canceropôles PACA and CLARA, and will welcome leaders in the fields of medicine and basic science to focus on cancer cell signalling and, more specifically, on the LKB1-AMPK and associated pathways (PI3K, mTOR,…) from fundamental research to clinical applications. Deregulation of the LKB1-AMPK pathway predisposes patients to a high incidence of cancer, while also affecting numerous other cellular processes including embryogenesis, neurobiology and metabolism. Compounds that target
these pathways have attracted considerable attention for their clinical potential, and are currently of great interest. This meeting will provide a unique opportunity to share new discoveries, while at the same time foster interactions in the worldwide community of scientists devoted to advancing this important field of research.
